Holy Week

For many people especially here in the Philippines,holy week is the time to be with our family,a time to have a vacation with friends and relatives.I remember when I was still working in PLDT Ayala,I was so eager to have a holiday off during this time of year,for us pldt traffic operator(109&108),a holiday off was priceless,not only we will be having a 4 days off from work(2regular days off + the 2 holidays off)but because we will be having a chance to spend it with our family.Most of the time,i was always on duty,from 1pm-10pm,although i liked it since the pay was always double plus the night differential hmmm,i hate when we were about to go home,it was one of those days that you'll see the used to be busy street of Ayala like a "ghost" town...lol,there are really very very few people in the street,very few vehicles were passing by,even taxis are hard to find,you can even dance and play in the street,there are no LRT operations wither.Funny but i missed it.I missed the people that i worked with for 12yrs of my stay there,most of them have gone immigrating to different countries,some of them i still see,and there are others that i dont know where are they now.There are only few operators that are left in the traffic department now,when i started there in 1990,there were more than 500 lady operators in MGO bldg alone,now it was down to 200 Nationwide,that's sad :-(

Anyways,so much for the nostalgia,i hope you all will have a blessed holy week.

Pacquiao vs Marquez - Unfinished Business

The fight was said to be aired on channel 7 at 10am but it started before 2pm.I didnt know that i fall asleep,i almost missed it,when i opened my eyes,Ciara Sotto was already in the middle of singing our National Anthem,followed by Mexico's national anthem and afterwards,the United States' National anthem sung by a 14yr old Fil-Am Jasmine Villegas.Then the introduction of Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.

4 years of waiting was worth the wait.Both boxers were in good shape.They both showed how tough they were,Marquez was a picture of a strong willed fighter,you can see from his moves that he really looked forward for this fight and had gone an extensive and powerful training.Manny Pacquiao on the other hand was all ready and determined to win the fight,llike Marquez he's been to a tough and long training too.He wanted to win the fight not only for himself,not only for his family but also for his fellow Filipinos,for his country.

The fight lasted until the 12th round,both of them already had a cut on their eyes but both of them showed how great a fighter they are and none of them are willing to surrender.But as we always say,"there can be only one".After the last round,nobody knew who won but the judges,Manny was busy exchanging hugs with Marquez when it was announced that he winby a split decision.

Once again,Manny Pacquiao made the Philippines and the Filipino people proud of him.Here in the Philippines,everybody was glued on their tv screen,it's another zero crime here.Everybody ended up happy and rejoicing.Pacman is now the new WBC Super Weatherweight Champion of the world.The first Asian who won 3 consecutive different titles.

Another pride of Filipinos.Congratulations and Mabuhay Manny Pacquiao!

Bb Pilipinas 2008

Bb. Pilipinas beauty contest has been around for quite some time now and have already produced international beauty queens,ramp models and celebrities. It's being held every year to look for a beauty and brain Filipinas to compete in an international beauty competitions like Ms.International,Ms. World and the famous Ms. Universe.With months of preparation and pre-screening,we can say that during the contest proper,they already have selected those who are qualified to vie for the said title.

Most of the contestants were pretty,but the one who caught viewers' attention was the 17 years old and the youngest of them all,Janina San Miguel who looked very confident at first but when she answered the question(watch here),it was a turn off.And the irony of it all,she won the Bb.Pilipinas-World!I hope the judges didnt make any mistake when they voted for her.

According to many,she's another Melanie Marquez when it comes to her "english"...lol.Im not here to mock her but it was just disappointing knowing that she'll compete abroad and with her english,i dont think we should expect to win.I dont think too that being young and first timer will be an excuse for not good in speaking english(it was her excuse).

But honestly speaking,the organizers should be more aware that those winners will soon be in an international beauty competition and will give credit to our country.From what i have seen when she replied to the question,she just got beauty and no brain.

Well,it was just my opinion and maybe the teacher in me makes me want to get a "red ballpen" so i can "correct" her grammar....lol.again,this is just my opinion and we are all entitled to one.I know i'm not perfect and i also made mistakes in the past but then,im in no competition and am no way competing locally nor internationally...(wink)

Anyway,they still have time to prepare,specially Janina, to study and polish her grammar :p.Congratulations and Good luck to all of them!

Annulment in the Philippines

Family is the basic unit of society and being the only Catholic country in Asia,Philippines does not recognize divorce.The Church strongly opposed with that.If you're marriage is not working anymore no matter how you want to work and press things out,you can file for an annulment,it is a simple voided marriage.In the eyes of both the Catholic church and the Philippine government an annuled marriage is a marriage that never happened.Unlike divorce where the two persons involved agreed to "end" or teminate the marriage,annulment is pointing out that there never really was a marriage,thus,there's no need for a divorce.It's like going back to being single again.

But getting an annulment here in the Philippines is really hard and tedious and very expensive,believe me,i've been there.I have just received the decision and the finality of my annulment recently after almost 3yrs of waiting.This made me think the reason why there are lots of people who commit bigamy,adultery and concubinage,they cant afford the cost of annulment.

But there are people who thought they could run from law by simple forgetting about their status or will say that they know nothing about the law,as we all know,ignorance exempt no one when it comes to law.We should be responsible for our own acts.

And to find out what are the void and voidable marriages,here's the chapter 3 from the Family Code of the Philippines

Chapter 3. Void and Voidable Marriages

Art. 35. The following marriages shall be void from the beginning:

(1) Those contracted by any party below eighteen years of age even with the consent of parents or guardians;

(2) Those solemnized by any person not legally authorized to perform marriages unless such marriages were contracted with either or both parties believing in good faith that the solemnizing officer had the legal authority to do so;

(3) Those solemnized without license, except those covered the preceding Chapter;

(4) Those bigamous or polygamous marriages not failing under Article 41;

(5) Those contracted through mistake of one contracting party as to the identity of the other; and

(6) Those subsequent marriages that are void under Article 53.

Art. 36. A marriage contracted by any party who, at the time of the celebration, was psychologically incapacitated to comply with the essential marital obligations of marriage, shall likewise be void even if such incapacity becomes manifest only after its solemnization. (As amended by Executive Order 227)

Art. 37. Marriages between the following are incestuous and void from the beginning, whether the relationship between the parties be legitimate or illegitimate:

(1) Between ascendants and descendants of any degree; and

(2) Between brothers and sisters, whether of the full or half blood. (81a)

Art. 38. The following marriages shall be void from the beginning for reasons of public policy:

(1) Between collateral blood relatives whether legitimate or illegitimate, up to the fourth civil degree;

(2) Between step-parents and step-children;

(3) Between parents-in-law and children-in-law;

(4) Between the adopting parent and the adopted child;

(5) Between the surviving spouse of the adopting parent and the adopted child;

(6) Between the surviving spouse of the adopted child and the adopter;

(7) Between an adopted child and a legitimate child of the adopter;

(8) Between adopted children of the same adopter; and

(9) Between parties where one, with the intention to marry the other, killed that other person's spouse, or his or her own spouse. (82)

Art. 39. The action or defense for the declaration of absolute nullity of a marriage shall not prescribe.

(As amended by Executive Order 227 and Republic Act No. 8533; The phrase "However, in case of marriage celebrated before the effectivity of this Code and falling under Article 36, such action or defense shall prescribe in ten years after this Code shall taken effect" has been deleted by Republic Act No. 8533 [Approved February 23, 1998]).

Art. 40. The absolute nullity of a previous marriage may be invoked for purposes of remarriage on the basis solely of a final judgment declaring such previous marriage void. (n)

Art. 41. A marriage contracted by any person during subsistence of a previous marriage shall be null and void, unless before the celebration of the subsequent marriage, the prior spouse had been absent for four consecutive years and the spouse present has a well-founded belief that the absent spouse was already dead. In case of disappearance where there is danger of death under the circumstances set forth in the provisions of Article 391 of the Civil Code, an absence of only two years shall be sufficient.

For the purpose of contracting the subsequent marriage under the preceding paragraph the spouse present must institute a summary proceeding as provided in this Code for the declaration of presumptive death of the absentee, without prejudice to the effect of reappearance of the absent spouse. (83a)

Art. 42. The subsequent marriage referred to in the preceding Article shall be automatically terminated by the recording of the affidavit of reappearance of the absent spouse, unless there is a judgment annulling the previous marriage or declaring it void ab initio.

A sworn statement of the fact and circumstances of reappearance shall be recorded in the civil registry of the residence of the parties to the subsequent marriage at the instance of any interested person, with due notice to the spouses of the subsequent marriage and without prejudice to the fact of reappearance being judicially determined in case such fact is disputed. (n)

Art. 43. The termination of the subsequent marriage referred to in the preceding Article shall produce the following effects:

(1) The children of the subsequent marriage conceived prior to its termination shall be considered legitimate;

(2) The absolute community of property or the conjugal partnership as the case may be, shall be dissolved and liquidated, but if either spouse contracted said marriage in bad faith, his or her share of the net profits of the community property or conjugal partnership property shall be forfeited in favor of the common children or, if there are none, the children of the guilty spouse by a previous marriage or in default of children, the innocent spouse;

(3) Donations by reason of marriage shall remain valid, except that if the donee contracted the marriage in bad faith, such donations made to said donee are revoked by operation of law;

(4) The innocent spouse may revoke the designation of the other spouse who acted in bad faith as beneficiary in any insurance policy, even if such designation be stipulated as irrevocable; and

(5) The spouse who contracted the subsequent marriage in bad faith shall be disqualified to inherit from the innocent spouse by testate and intestate succession (n)

Art. 44. If both spouses of the subsequent marriage acted in bad faith, said marriage shall be void ab initio and all donations by reason of marriage and testamentary dispositions made by one in favor of the other are revoked by operation of law. (n)

Art. 45. A marriage may be annulled for any of the following causes, existing at the time of the marriage:

(1) That the party in whose behalf it is sought to have the marriage annulled was eighteen years of age or over but below twenty-one, and the marriage was solemnized without the consent of the parents, guardian or person having substitute parental authority over the party, in that order, unless after attaining the age of twenty-one, such party freely cohabited with the other and both lived together as husband and wife;

(2) That either party was of unsound mind, unless such party after coming to reason, freely cohabited with the other as husband and wife;

(3) That the consent of either party was obtained by fraud, unless such party afterwards, with full knowledge of the facts constituting the fraud, freely cohabited with the other as husband and wife;

(4) That the consent of either party was obtained by force, intimidation or undue influence, unless the same having disappeared or ceased, such party thereafter freely cohabited with the other as husband and wife;

(5) That either party was physically incapable of consummating the marriage with the other, and such incapacity continues and appears to be incurable; or

(6) That either party was afflicted with a sexually-transmissible disease found to be serious and appears to be incurable. (85a)

Art. 46. Any of the following circumstances shall constitute fraud referred to in Number 3 of the preceding Article:

(1) Non-disclosure of a previous conviction by final judgment of the other party of a crime involving moral turpitude;

(2) Concealment by the wife of the fact that at the time of the marriage, she was pregnant by a man other than her husband;

(3) Concealment of sexually transmissible disease, regardless of its nature, existing at the time of the marriage; or

(4) Concealment of drug addiction, habitual alcoholism or homosexuality or lesbianism existing at the time of the marriage.

No other misrepresentation or deceit as to character, health, rank, fortune or chastity shall constitute such fraud as will give grounds for action for the annulment of marriage. (86a)

Art. 47. The action for annulment of marriage must be filed by the following persons and within the periods indicated herein:

(1) For causes mentioned in number 1 of Article 45 by the party whose parent or guardian did not give his or her consent, within five years after attaining the age of twenty-one, or by the parent or guardian or person having legal charge of the minor, at any time before such party has reached the age of twenty-one;

(2) For causes mentioned in number 2 of Article 45, by the same spouse, who had no knowledge of the other's insanity; or by any relative or guardian or person having legal charge of the insane, at any time before the death of either party, or by the insane spouse during a lucid interval or after regaining sanity;

(3) For causes mentioned in number 3 of Article 45, by the injured party, within five years after the discovery of the fraud;

(4) For causes mentioned in number 4 of Article 45, by the injured party, within five years from the time the force, intimidation or undue influence disappeared or ceased;

(5) For causes mentioned in number 5 and 6 of Article 45, by the injured party, within five years after the marriage. (87a)

Art. 48. In all cases of annulment or declaration of absolute nullity of marriage, the Court shall order the prosecuting attorney or fiscal assigned to it to appear on behalf of the State to take steps to prevent collusion between the parties and to take care that evidence is not fabricated or suppressed.

In the cases referred to in the preceding paragraph, no judgment shall be based upon a stipulation of facts or confession of judgment. (88a)

Art. 49. During the pendency of the action and in the absence of adequate provisions in a written agreement between the spouses, the Court shall provide for the support of the spouses and the custody and support of their common children. The Court shall give paramount consideration to the moral and material welfare of said children and their choice of the parent with whom they wish to remain as provided for in Title IX. It shall also provide for appropriate visitation rights of the other parent. (n)

Art. 50. The effects provided for by paragraphs (2), (3), (4) and (5) of Article 43 and by Article 44 shall also apply in the proper cases to marriages which are declared ab initio or annulled by final judgment under Articles 40 and 45.

The final judgment in such cases shall provide for the liquidation, partition and distribution of the properties of the spouses, the custody and support of the common children, and the delivery of their presumptive legitimes, unless such matters had been adjudicated in previous judicial proceedings.

All creditors of the spouses as well as of the absolute community or the conjugal partnership shall be notified of the proceedings for liquidation.

In the partition, the conjugal dwelling and the lot on which it is situated, shall be adjudicated in accordance with the provisions of Articles 102 and 129.

Art. 51. In said partition, the value of the presumptive legitimes of all common children, computed as of the date of the final judgment of the trial court, shall be delivered in cash, property or sound securities, unless the parties, by mutual agreement judicially approved, had already provided for such matters.

The children or their guardian or the trustee of their property may ask for the enforcement of the judgment.

The delivery of the presumptive legitimes herein prescribed shall in no way prejudice the ultimate successional rights of the children accruing upon the death of either of both of the parents; but the value of the properties already received under the decree of annulment or absolute nullity shall be considered as advances on their legitime. (n)

Art. 52. The judgment of annulment or of absolute nullity of the marriage, the partition and distribution of the properties of the spouses and the delivery of the children's presumptive legitimes shall be recorded in the appropriate civil registry and registries of property; otherwise, the same shall not affect third persons. (n)

Art. 53. Either of the former spouses may marry again after compliance with the requirements of the immediately preceding Article; otherwise, the subsequent marriage shall be null and void.

Art. 54. Children conceived or born before the judgment of annulment or absolute nullity of the marriage under Article 36 has become final and executory shall be considered legitimate. Children conceived or born of the subsequent marriage under Article 53 shall likewise be legitimate.

I woke up a little bit late today, 8am to be exact.it's Saturday so no school for my little boy. Im now updating my posts on this blog. i have found out last night that i made a mistake by linking my new blog to my other blogs, i posted the same link twice...lol. i'll just do it when my sched is not so hectic. i still have some chores waiting for me and i'll put the editing of my link at the bottom of my priorities.

Arrgh!It's been a long day! After sending my son to school, i went to market, washed our clothes then cooked our lunch and when im done,i started to work in front of my pc. I found it hard to sit for long today because im suffering from a terrible back pain caused by scoliosis. it really hurts that's why i need to take time out every now and then. i'll try to sleep early to give my back a rest.although im tired,im happy coz i was able to work and got some opportunities,i still have some pending opps and my mind still wants to continue but my back's complaining a lot so i've to stop now,i'll just work on it tomorrow or maybe later if i feel better.....

A few months ago,i heard a story of a boy who was offered a " candy"but only to be given it back and gave it to others instead.he was hurt, so he went home crying and told his parents,relatives and friends what had happened.Most people believed him,others not.it became a hit.and now it it's more than an issue,it's now a controversy,he was pointing fingers to some political figures why he was deprived of his "candy".

It didnt just die there.It's been 2 days since i've watched on the news the mysterious disappearance of Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr.It was said that his family was looking for him when they didnt meet him at the airport from Hongkong.It was only this morning that he was turned over by the PNP who admitted that they were the ones who escorted Lozada at his request and his brother's for fear of his life.Jun Lozada and his family denied this.It was known that Mr. Lozada was to testify at the senate regarding the controversial Million Dollars Broadband Deal.He named former Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos as the "trouble starter" whom he alledgedly said wanted to protect his $130Million commission(source)

Wow!They are talking about millions of dollars here and as a commision,i wouldnt doubt how it became a controversy.All because of money.We are aware how many people are dying because of poverty,many people are homeless,there are students who have no classrooms,street children,lack of medicine to give out to poor people,all in all,the rich people getting richer and the poor people gets even poorer.If they could just focus themselves and share their blessings to the less fortunate and not fighting it over and let the whole world know about who really are the most greedy. I wonder why there are people who's main concern is to gain power and money.When they die,they cant bring it to their tombs,their power will be ineffective once they hit their last breath.If only they could just open their eyes and their minds,there are lots of people who are in need.They dont need money anymore,they already have lots of it.Other people needs just a portion of it and they will be contented and happy.ahhhhh,People!so tough and yet so weak!a lot of people have already died because of money...money is the root of all evil.but then who dont need money?but anything that is too much is bad....

Rubik's Cube

A few days back,there was a contest that was held in one of the top universities here in Manila,Rubik's cube puzzle contest.Many people joined including kids as young as 6 yrs old who solved the puzzle in less than 2 minutes...Great huh!

I remember it became a hit also when i was in high school a few years ago,now it's here again.originally,it was called "magic cube" , invented by a Hungarian Professor and an Architect Erno Rubik.It is said to be the world's selling toy.

My son's into it too,in fact,he already bought 3 cubes,unfortunately for him,he brought it in school and was unlucky enough to have it confiscated by his adviser.... but it didnt stop him from trying to "decipher" the mystery out of this cube,and this time,i always make sure he'll not bring it in school :P

Well,i guess i've to stop from here since im going to try my luck with this....lol

Lately,i've been in contact again with my former officemates and friends from pldt.one found me and one thing led to another.it's a chain reaction,that when u found one person,surely,she has contact with another one and before you knew it,you're already a group again.

It's nice to see old familiar faces again.we used to work in an all ladies department.we always see each other almost everyday,others we just say hi,or stopped for a while and have a small talk before and after each duties or during break periods.

Being frontliners,we are trained to have a voice with a smile especially when we were talking to subscribers because it's just our voice that they can hear,and when you dial either 109 or 108,you'll hear a pleasant voice that i bet made u wonder if that person is as sweet and as beautiful as her voice now you'll see there's more to it than voice....lol.

Before,it was only our voice that used to travel around the world,now,it's them who are everywhere!and it's nice to see them happy and already have their own family.The ladies that you used to only hear are for real,with emotions and with feelings.

It's really a pleasure to be in touch with them again,this time,although the others are too far away now,still,the power of the internet is amazing.we can still see each other thru webcams,and the voice with a smile?it will always be there.soothing and comforting....

Did it happen to you?You have lots of ideas in mind but then you cant make it happen nor cant write it down because you're too lazy to do it?Well,that's what's happening to me right now.Im too lazy to open my emails,my yahoo messenger,i have lots of ideas to write on my blog but i cant just do it because i'm too lazy to do it.i still have to list down some marketing plans for our other website but it's been almost two weeks since i've planned on it but nothing came out yet :-) but then i know this will pass and once i've gotten over it,there will be lots of stories to tell and there'll be lots of articles to write.i just need some time to focus,a drive to keep me going and going again....

I know I will be more inspired and it will give me a lot of energy as soon as i got all the papers that I'll be needing,coz that will be the time that we will be starting our new life together....the start of our new beginning...our journey to life....Me and Joe together forever!

Ghost Stories...my fair share :p

It's halloween and this is the time when we reminisce our "encounter with the ghosts".Actually,for me ghost is just a result of our wild imaginations.we were just influenced by the Chinese people who believe in lots of superstitions and that include ghosts.our ancestors believed and acquired it until now.Do you still remember when our parents and other relatives used to scare us with ghosts?I remember my older sisters,when we didnt want to sleep at night yet,they will scare us and we will end up covering our face with a blanket so we could not see the "ghosts".

When my father died when i was just 9yrs old,i didnt scare a bit,i remember waking up at 4am to get ready for school.i can be alone in the middle of the night for as long as nobody will scare me,im ok.i get scared too but only because sometimes i scared myself by imagining things....lol.

I didnt really believe in ghost,until when i was hired as a high school teacher after i graduated in college.it was a Catholic School,the school conducted an overnight camp fire with the girl scouts from first year to fourth year.my advisory class was second year so I was assigned to be there and assisted them.As soon as I arrived in the school at 6pm,me and my co teacher monette went to the faculty room to put our things there,but nobody was there and it was closed,so we just went to see the students,while i was with them at the covered court,i glanced at the window and noticed that there was a woman standing near the comfort room inside the faculty room,i was just a few steps away from her although i was outside,i called out monette and told her that one of our co teacher were already inside,I told her that it was Mrs.David,coz she looked like her,although i didnt really see her face, I called "Mrs.David" but she didnt even look nor moved.so we went inside only to our surprise that nobody was there,goosebumps enveloped me,i didnt notice that i was already crying and monette already left me,i wasnt able to move a muscle.there were people who came there to checked on me,I told them to check the comfort room because maybe she was just inside but there was none,by the way,there was only one exit to that room and if she already left,we will get a chance to bumped with her but we didnt.they escorted me outside and pacified me.after that incident,it was followed by another one but i was already with my co teachers so they also witnessed it,that made me think that maybe they just wanted their presence to be felt and they needed somebody to pray for their souls.and we did.That was my first and last real encounter with a ghost.

It's not only during all saints or all souls day that we have to remember our departed ones,everyday,let's offer a prayer to them,also to the souls of those who left unexpectedly.

I still get scared to ghosts sometimes,but i'm more scared to those who are still living because they're capable of harming and hurting us. Especially to those who are in power hehehe...SO BEWARE!!!

Well,lately i've been upset about the things that i didnt have any control nor i have any thought of encountering with,not ever!

"Many are called but few are chosen".it always entered my mind especially nowadays,it always apply in our daily living.and it fits well in a long distance relationship.it takes a lot of effort,understanding,patience and most especially,trust.if u dont possess these traits,ur one of those that were called but werent lucky enough to be chosen.

But as for my case,no matter how many trials i've encountered and will be encountering,i'm willing to go with it not because i need to but because i want to.i want to make it happen coz i dont see myself living without the man of my life and that's Joe.for as long as he wants me to be with him,i'm all for it.

Life's so sweet only u have to taste its bitterness first.u wont know how strong u are unless u've been through a lot,u wont recognize victory unless u've encountered defeat.and u wont be successful unless u've strive hard.

I've waited 2 yrs for my annulment until i got it done just recently,it took a lot of patience,and now it paid off.another waiting won't hurt me for my change of name under RA9048 . i know everything will be ok.and in every problem,there's always a solution,and problems were given to us coz God knew we can solve it and that's where we will get our strength in order to be a better person in the future.

I'm aware that after one test,another one will arise but i know im ready to face it,and i will conquer all of it coz God will give me strength and i know He will make a way when there seems to be no way.there's always sunshine after the rain.

I'm so grateful that with all that we're experiencing right now,i have Joe on my side,who keeps on assuring me that he will not leave me and will always be there waiting for me even if it takes forever,which i hope i will have it all done as soon as possible coz it's me who can't wait to be with him again....now and forever!

Well,as i've checked my last post,it's been more than a month,hmmm,been a long time huh?well,aside from gaining weight(that's what my friends told me huhuhu :p),been busy with some important matters.like my annulment,well,after more than 2yrs of waiting,it's finally almost over,it's not 100% over yet but at least i didnt have to wait for another hearing nor would get nervous that the judge might re set it to another 6mos or more,yes,that's how lazy she was.as of now,im just waiting for the decision to be signed by her which i hope she'll grab the pen and just signed it without letting me wait again for months whew!!! after that,i still have to wait for the finality,then file it in Manila Local Registry Office and finally,National Statistics Office(NSO).im hoping and praying i'll get it done before the year ends.and of course,if one problem has been solved,another problem will arise hehehe...now i will have to file a name changed,the name that i got used of using is a little different from the name written on my Birth Certificate,im gathering now all the necessary documents so i can have it filed on Manila Local registry under RA9048,hope to get this done right in time for the release of my annotated Marriage Certificate from NSO.oh well,i guess luck's on my side huh...lol.but then,im taking it as a challenge,before i was laxed with my annulment,i filed it 2yrs ago,before i even met my Joseph,he's the who gave me inspiration to get it all done so we can be together forever.but sometimes i wish,Philippines is not like Philippines now,it's hard to live in a country like this,it's hard to leave and go to another country whenever u wish to,if you need some documents,you have to go to the place,wait in a long line,and wait for sometime before it will be released,wow!but then,im living here so what can i do,i love my country of course but i wish it will improve for the better in the near future.

Right now,all im wishing is to finish all these and do as we planned.no matter how stressful it is,im all for it coz aside from i know that Joe's always on my side,i know God will make a way when there seems to be no way! and i know i will make it!!!

The Philippine Island is surrounded by bodies of water and is rich in natural resources.That’s why many are asking especially the youth of today why there are countries like Japan that has been destroyed and devastated during the World War II and yet they easily recovered and is now considered the richest in the East.And why is it our country’s being left behind?But then we know that the progress of one’s country differs from the source of their livelihood,another one is their people.Although it’s a common knowledge that the Philippines is rich in natural resources,from deep down the ocean to the forest.While Japan are not lucky enough to be given by this kind of resources,they were given a community of people that are rich in talent,like us Filipinos they’re also hardworker,honest but well-disciplined.A small country like Taiwan who’s well known before as Formosa was able to upgrade their living status and is now being look upon by other neighboring countries.While the over-populated country of China,are doing very well too.But no matter how rich a country is ,if the people will not take care of it properly,it will just only be put into a waste.Great example is our country,The Philippines.We all knew that we have waters that are rich in sea foods,we used to have a lot of trees and animals in the forest.We were the number one importer of rice but now,little by little,animals become extinct because of hunting,illegal logging,dynamite fishing and the continuing illegal activities that destroys our nature.Come to think of it,isnt nature getting back at us?Yes! and it’s really scary!And the price of it? Flood,soil erosion,the outbreak of different kinds of disease which resulted from death of our countrymen.That’s why we need to act,we need to unite and do something about it.let’s not destroy our forests,let’s not destroy the future of our kids.let’s learn how to be disciplined so we will be able to leave a nice dwelling to our kids,the future generation.The world is such a nice place to live in,let’s take care of it.after all,God created it for the human beings to live here.Let’s all be human and give back something good from what has been given to us.

The Philippines has been ruled by Spain for a long period of time. The Spanish colonization lasted for more than three centuries or 377 years to be exact,thus explain why majority of our cultures and traditions were contributed by the Spanish-Mexican descent.Folk music,folk dance,art,food,literature,religion and language are the most visible influence by the Hispanics on us.Philippines is the only Catholic country in Asia.Philippines are known for holding annual festivities in different parts of the county.It is to honor the patron saints of different towns,villages or regional districts.The festivities are celebrated with church ceremony, street parade accompanied by bands and fireworks( in honor of the patron saints).Houses are full of visitors and foods are overflowing.Each town or villages or barangays hold game like palosebo, agawang buko, paluan ng palayok,dance,singing and beauty contest with lots of prizes to be won.Dinagyang, Sinulog, Ati-Atihan, Panagbenga or Flower Festival , Pahiyas- these and other festivities in the country are just among that attract many tourists and tradition that has been passed from generation to generation.Next time you visit the Philippines,think of visiting those places and you'll have a real good time of your life.

Is there life after PLDT?

Many may wonder what my title is all about.I have asked this myself more than 5 yrs ago when i left PLDT. And the same question entered my mind when few days ago,i came across with our neighbor while me and my son Carlo was on our way home from a drug store.Our neighbor who still works as a lineman where i used to work,and his wife stopped me to tell me that he saw many operators crying at the lobby of my former employer,he said more than 500 employees of PLDT, 238 of them were my former co workers and friends were sacked!I was enveloped by sadness, coz i know how they value much of their work. i know most of them are bread winners,and i know the feeling....so depressing!

It was 1990 when i decided to apply as an operator in PLDT.I was a graduate of BSE and had a one year teaching experience from a Catholic School. I decided to try another field coz eversince I was a kid,i really wanted to work in an office,to be an office girl.I had a funny dream then,i wanted to be a saleslady...lol.coz way back then,i can saw them wearing make up and they were wearing sexy skirt and heels...and i thought before, they're working in an office hihihi...then when i was in high school,i dreamt of becoming a teacher coz i know this is a noble vocation so i became one.but after a year of experience i resigned and became a private tutor to 8 kids near our place.when i learned that the leading telecommunication in the country was hiring,i applied.it was a stiff competition.i remember i didnt know how to go to Makati,i was with my friend when i submitted my resume and it was my mother i was with when i had my first interview....hahaha...i thought after that,it was all over.but it was followed by another,then exams then interview then exams.series of interviews and exams lasted for a month because after one interview,you'll be asked to come back after 3 or 5 days for psychological test then you'll be asked to come back for another tongue twister after anther 3 days.we were less than a hundred of applicants when i had my first interview.After each interview,they will call the names of the ones who passed. and before we reached the final interview,we were just 3.i was so nervous coz it was really hard.i was the 2nd one to be called,the first one didnt make it.and when it was my turn,i went inside with confidence but still nervous.the manager was gay,as he was talking to me,i felt comfortable,i answered each question with confidence.after the interview,he gave me a sheet of paper and told me to give it to the guy at the left table,he told me i passed the exam and was asked to get a form so i can have my PE exam and the rest is history! i learned that the third lady didnt pass the final interview.that made me sad for her but was so glad for my luck coz with less than 100 applicants,it was only me who passed! my family was so proud of me!

And my days in that company started,i met lots of friends and "enemies" as well....lol....coz let's admit it,being in an all girls department, we were more than 500 employees,and we all know we cant please everybody right? and im the type of person who's transparent,what you see is what you get,i dont talk to a person if i dont feel like it,kaya nga sabi nila suplada daw ako....lol..but i didnt mind kc i know im just being true to myself...i met a lot of people,i gained lots of experience and gained friends, some friends were more of a user than being true and real. i found out who really are my friends there when i left my work in 2002. they were the ones who console and give me moral support when i was down and up to now,they're still there for me.though it was sad when i left the company,the place that i considered my second home and my world revolved around,but then im happy,coz it made me strong and more responsible for my actions and because of that i found my true friends and they know who they are.

Before,i thought there was no life after pldt. why? coz aside from this is one of the top companies in the Philippines,it offers a lot of benefits, and the salary is high and of all the departments,Traffic, where i used to belong, is the one who gets paid really good. but of course life is not a bed of roses, we need to sacrifice as well,we need to work very hard for it. if operators were the high paying employees then, we were the ones who suffer a lot. if there's a calamity,whether from here or abroad,it's a sin to be absent coz we're a public servant. and they're very strict when it comes to tardiness, if you'll be absent, you need to call the office a day before so they will find a replacement for you. if you need to change your days off,you need to find a co maker,make a memo and submit it to your supervisor and wait for it to be approved by the chief operator.and most of all,dealing with different kinds of people was truly tough!

Oh about my title, yes! there's life after pldt,in fact,it has a lot more.We just got used of our life when we were there because we can buy whatever we wanted, if one wanted to have a vacation abroad, it was so easy because you have money.new cellphones,cars,shopping.. name it and pldt has it. but life isnt just material things.there's more to it. family is more important,and being a person that you are.No matter how rich a person can be, life cant be measured how much millions you have, you can embrace all your money but it cant embrace you back. you can buy all the things you want with it but you cant buy real happiness. you can have lots of friends because of it but you wont know who your true friends are.

Before, i thought i cant survive without pldt,but i did. i even gained true friends who trusted me and accepted me as i am. although i dont have money, im more at peace, im more relaxed. i know i cant buy things that i want like i used to but that doesnt stop me from being happy and contented with my life.i have my family who's always there to give me moral support,my son who never fails to give me headache...hahaha :-), but kidding aside, my son is all i have,he's my world. he's growing up too fast but i've no regrets because being a stay in mom, i saw him grew up, i was with him when he had his first tooth, and i was with him when he first set foot in school and i was with him when we bought a gift for his first girlfriend....lol...and i'll continue to be with him to guide him and give him all the love that i have.I used to be busy also because of my job in pldt, but now, im always at home..i didnt have any single regret by just staying and working here, because of it....i met my true love...the one that made my life very colorful. i know i already have my son who gives color to my everyday life, but Joe completed it all... i can say that i already have a complete family but this will come true only if we 3 are living together and i know that will be soon.

12 yrs of working in pldt taught me a lot of things and i gained a lot of experiences after 5 yrs of being not there.Life has to move on, we must move on...the road is wide and life has lots to offer although i know it's hard but eventually, we can adjust....there's hope while we're alive and we still have a long way to go...remember.... LIFE IS A JOURNEY!

The pics here are some of my real friends.we dont communicate often but then,we know by heart that no matter how far the distance is,our friendship will remain forever... See because of our sweet smiles(and with those belly "baby" fats...lol),you'll know that we are happy even without PLDT!

A mother is a woman who conceives, gives birth to , or raises and nurtures a child. We all know that we all have a mother. even animals has their mother. even Jesus Christ has His own mother,VIrgin Mary and for Catholics, She is the mother of all mothers.

We all love our mother.of course we love both our parents, but usually, it's with our mother that we are closer because we were with her since the time that she was conceiving,from the time of our birth, and even when we are already adult and have our own family, the bond will always be there.

I can only speak of my own mother. Unlike other kids, i dont tell her much that i love her but i know she knew it and I really adore her, she'll soon be turning 75 but she's still strong, her eyes can still see clearly, and she can still attend some gimiks with her amigas...lol.

I grew up looking up at my mother.I saw her transformed from being a caring housewife,a caring mother to her 7kids(actually we were 8 but the baby died just after a few days when he was born and the 5 of us didnt even see him) to being a single parent.

Yes, my mother became a widow at the age of 43.Our eldest was barely 20yrs old when my father died,i was just 9yrs old and my youngest brother was 5. It was really a big blow to my family.My father was a seaman, had an appendectomy in France but unluckily for him, he got a liver complication that resulted to his death.The last time we saw our father alive was when we saw him leave from the airport,and it was hard to welcome him again inside the box....Lifeless!

It was the start of my mother's sacrifices, just a few months after my father passed away, another tragedy hit us, our house was burnt by fire.but then God saved us coz nobody from my family got hurt..Thanks be to God.

And life must continue, my mother devoted her time from being a mother and a father as well,she was a dressmaker, she didnt waste any single time, she worked hard for us. even i was just a kid then, i remember there were men who were visiting her and trying to win her heart her but she said no,she was so determined to make a living for us and didnt have time, didnt even think of getting another husband...I really admire her for that.

She was able to sent us to school,the 3 of us girls finished college, but the 4 boys didnt make it.she told them, she gave them a chance to finish their studies and take the course they wanted but they didnt grab the opportunity, so they cant blame her for that.

Like others, life has its ups and downs.And when i had mine, she was there to help me and helped me recover.yes, I managed to fight all those tests that came my way with my mother beside me. I know by heart she still has lots of dreams that she'd like to fulfill someday,i also have dreams for her and i hope she's still here when im ready to give it to her.

As of now, she already has 12 grandkids which she adore so much. one came from me of course...lol :p . Every Friday, she goes to Quiapo Church as her devotion to the Black Nazarene,sometimes she's going out with her friends, Malling...heheheh...my son loves her so much because she spoiled him... :p

I know I still have a long way compared to my mother who've been through a lot. I dont know if i can be as strong as my mother but there's one thing i would want to do.... TO BE A GOOD MOTHER LIKE SHE IS TO US....

Life has its ups and downs, it's like a wheel, sometimes we're on top, sometimes we're at the bottom but no matter how hard it is, everything that goes down must come up. That's how life goes.

It happened to me before, i was so down, i've no job,im a single parent and i have a son that needs my care and attention, bills to pay,food to buy, ohhh problems everywhere! I need to breathe, i need to relax, seemed that i needed to go to a secluded place where i could
shout and cry at the top of my voice,I almost asked God why me? why it was happening to me?But i didnt dare coz i know God's just testing me and everything happens for a reason.

I needed somebody to talk to, i needed a real friend who will lend an ear to me, who will comfort me in times of trouble, who wont condemn me from the things that i did. who will not point fingers on me and tell me " it is your fault"! At that time, i needed a shoulder to cry on, a somebody who will look at me as me.

Life's a challenge, a long journey. It takes a lot of patience, understanding and faith to God in order to understand it. I remember the movie that i watched before, Forrest Gump, he said: " Life's like a box of chocolate, you wont know what you'll get". and it's true. And it comforts me every time i think about it. I know there are no people here on earth who didnt experience trouble in their lives. We're all being given a "test of life", it's just on a different package. and God wont give us problems if He know we dont know how to handle it.

At that time, i was so lonely,i admit, i need a man in my life. that's true! so i asked God's guidance,and give me patience and help me find a man who will love me for what i am, and who will accept my son as his own, whom i can live and share my life with forever.

Luckily, God didnt take long to answer my prayer. He not only gave me somebody who will love me and my son as we are, He gave me not only a partner in life, but a BESTFRIEND that i can share all my worries, my thoughts and ideas,share my laughter and plans. He even gave me the namesake of His father here on earth, Joseph.

He's the one that makes me complete.Joe's the kind of person that can make you cry because of happiness and because of his jokes. We can talk for hours without getting bored. He's a man in a true sense of the word. There's nothing that i could ask for but to be with him soon.

I know we still have lots of trials to face, we still need to gather a lot of patience.We've been through a lot, we've encountered some tests on our relationship, but it just made our relationship stronger than before.And thanks for always assuring me that no matter what, we will make this happen and for keeping all your promises.

Life's really a wonderful world!

This is me when i was 4yrs old,cute? of course...lol..i remember when i was a kid,we used to go to Antipolo Church every summer,me and my other siblings,my mother and my late father, whenever he was on vacation,btw,my father died when i was just 9yrs old,it was 32yrs ago.anyways,i missed going to Antipolo.it's been a long time since we went there.i can still recall whenever we were there,after the mass,we will buy suman and mangga,then we will go swimming to the then famous Hinulugang Taktak Yipeee!!!!but my all time favorite was when my mother was buying me clay pots or we call that in tagalog "palayok-palayukan".i loved those very much when i was a little girl, once we were home,i will play with those,sometimes with my playmates or with my 2 elder sisters,we will cook real rice and some foods...i wonder why i know little about cooking when i used to love it when i was a kid...lol...

if you'll look at the pic,you'll see that i was all smiling,coz my mother already bought me clay pots then,but i had other picture when i had a long face,i didnt post it here coz i dont like how i looked,the reason for the long face was my mother didnt buy my favorite palayok-palayukan..sob :( ...lol....

I really had a wonderful memories of my childhood!

when you look from our window,you'll see this scene.this is the picture of our neighborhood,a typical filipino house with some trees and you can even see some electrical wirings...oh well,it's in Tondo,Manila...although some still get scared once they hear about my place,but what they dont know,there are lots of good and peace loving people that they could find here...we dont live in a village or subdivision but i knew the people living here eversince i was a kid...neighbors are helping each other,show concerns.respect and appreciations,what i dont like are the people who spend most their time outside,talking and gossiping,but i dont care though,i dont have time for them,what i care most is about myself and my family and my work...i've no time to gossip nor to waste my time outside doing nothing...well,that's their life...to each his own...

....and this is the scene when you look down from our window...plants of my mother,a car of our neighbor,and some wires where we hang the clothes outside...you can see the leaves of our coconut tree,looks like it needs trimming now....lol...this is the place where i was born,i grew up and lived my life,ooops,lived?hey im still alive and still living here ....lolz...this is where i met my bestfriend,we dont see much of each other now although she just live nearby,we both are busy now with our own lives,a lot of things has changed for both of us,but one thing is certain and will not be changed,our friendship...we are still friends....and that's for keeps...

Do you read books? Are you fond of it? how often do you read? What you see are just samples of my favorite books.Chicken Soup for mother's soul,the dictionary and of course The Holy Bible.
There are lotsa and lotsa books...it depends upon your interest...some finds it interesting,some dont...again...it depends upon the person...some read a lot and because of this,they're being tagged as "bookworm"...some hate the idea of reading books,it's just that they dont find it interesting or dont have time to read it,or dont know how to read...lol.
For me,books are interesting,it's a good source of knowledge,i love reading books...eversince i learned how to read,i became attached to it....when i was in elementary,i used to frequent our school library just to borrow books,fairy tale books,i love reading the stories of Cinderella,Snowhite,The 3 Little pigs and the likes,name the fairy tale characters and i knew it...When i entered high school,i was also a frequent visitor of our library,although i still read something about fairy tales,that time, i was there often to have some researches regarding my homeworks,book reports and projects...oh sometimes we go there to chat and talk about our crushes....hehehehe....
During college,of course,i knew where our school library was located,while doing some researches,we went there to do mostly of our lesson plans,because we need that for our Practice Teaching subjects,we even went to different libraries in Manila or in Quezon City if we cant find it in our own library....well,although,for those who knew me especially my friends whom i didnt go to school together,they laughed sometimes coz they said,it doesnt show in my personality,coz they knew me for being happy go lucky,lots of sense of humor and easy to get along with,i always cheer them up when they're blue and tell them jokes which usually ended them laughing so hard...lol
I know books are important...it helped me a lot,i admit i didnt do good when i was still studying,i didnt get higher grades,in fact,i was always shy when it comes to class participation,but as time went by,i learned to overcome it,told myself that if i will not help myself,nobody will,it's only me that i can depend myself upon,so i tried hard,i started to teach myself,if i heard some words that i never heard before,my dictionary is always available for free consultations,even if i already done with my schooling,i never stopped studying...
Books are there for us to enjoy,but then,there are some knowledge that we cant find solely from our books,we cant find inside the library....that's the book of life...that's the best book God gave to us.
Enjoy life and enjoy reading books...dont stop learning...dont stop educating yourself.....Coz i believe..Life is a continues process...and education is the only treasure here on earth that no one can steal from us.....

And friends, dont ever forget to read the daily scriptures, it will really help us deal with our daily life.

Where do GOD lives?

I used to asked the same question when I was little, as expected, I got some responses from the "olds" that God lives in heaven, some replied that God lives inside the church,and so I believed them. That made me did weekly visits to His home The Church…when I leave the house, I used to look up above me to see if God is watching me and will follow wherever I went. When my father died, they told me, He was already in the care of God who created all of us. I was told that God will be the one who will take care of my father, and to all of those who already died. When I reached puberty, I still asked the same question," Where does God lives?" and got the same answers, God lives in the Church, some said that He lives in heaven. That one question gave birth to another one, if God lives in the Church, if He lives in heaven, He sees what's happening in us, He sees the one who suffers, He sees the poorest of the poor, He sees those who needs His care, He sees everything and yet, nothing changed, the poor is still poor, the needy still a needy, and those who suffers are still suffering. Why is it like that? Why doesn't He come down to end every suffering that we are experiencing? Those questions lingered for years but now that I'm an adult, I already found and got the answer. I found it out from my own experiences. I knew God doesn't live inside the church, because if He is there, nobody will ever dare to look disgustingly to those people who don't wear nice clothes inside the church, nobody will talk about nasty things to their seatmates, the priest and the church itself won't dare to collect money from the people and spend it for their own interests, yes that's true. Other priests may not be doing this but some does. And if He really lives in the church, the people who go there regularly will not curse or say anything bad when they come home, people will learn how to speak and learn the ways of God and live with it but they're not. With regards to God living in heaven, can anybody tell me how it looks? We all believe that there's a heaven and God lives there? We don't even know if there's a heaven, we just know that there's heaven if we feel good, but if not, we'll say that everything's in hell, which I doubt too if there's such one…but I am sure of one thing, and that I know where God really resides …. God resides in all of us. he lives in our hearts…everything in us were made by God that's why we can find HIM within.We cannot see things the way they are if God didn't give us eyes, we can't smell the fragrance of a flower if He didn't give us a sense of smell, we can't hear our own laughter if He didn't give us our sense of hearing, we can't feel love if he didn't give us our hearts…and that's the most important of it all…If we know how to love,then we'll know where he resides ... Nobody ever talked to or seen God yet but because we have hearts that can feel His presence…we believe that he exists and lives there… IN OUR HEARTS!God is forever!God is Everywhere!

After 25 years,here we are...most of us already have our own family,some have gone to different countries and some are now with our creator...no matter how busy we are in our daily lives,there are times that we stop and think about of our high school days...it's nice isnt it? it's nice to recall all those wonderful days during our teenage years...especially high school ...so many years have passed,still i remember,how can i forget my classmates and friends way back then...we've had lots of fun,we've exchanged laughters,tears,and there were times that we exchanged papers during exam... :)..and sometimes we have similar answers on our assignment :p...because one copied it from the other and so on and so forth...we've made fun of our classmates,teachers and of course,ourselves...i miss those days...although there are some that i still see and talk to,there are others that i wonder where they are now???...
But no matter what...they will remain in my thoughts and the happy times that we've shared will stay with me...

There are mornings that we wake up and feel that we’re not in the mood, that we don’t feel like going anywhere, don’t feel like talking to anybody nor seeing anyone, feeling all alone, feeling helpless and depressed…all u want to do is to stay in bed, stare at the ceiling…thinking nothing…BLANK!

Oh well, sometimes when we look back, we sees nothing but Blank…it seems our life is clueless….Empty!...that you’re looking for something that’s lacking in your life….did u figure it out why? And what’s lacking?

No matter how busy we are, we need to reflect, we need to stop, look and listen…days
are passing so fast that we have to stop and take it slow, we do shortcuts so we could go to our destinations faster, but we have to look to see if we’re going into the right direction, we talk fast that we didn’t dare to listen, maybe we just don’t notice, God is talking to us, and is reaching for us. ahhh the world is getting complicated, it’s suffocating….we need to breathe….

That’s why we need to have time for ourselves. We need somebody to talk and listen to. Life is two way traffic, we need to understand everything in order to be understood. And really, life is too short, so we need to appreciate whatever we have and we need to show our love to the people that surrounds us, especially our family...coz if we let it pass, time cannot be taken back anymore…

So let’s share our happiness to one another, enjoy the beauty of life, the joy of being with our love ones, make each day a special day, and let’s give love to one another. Forget the past and focus on what’s happening today and smile to each other….LET’S NOT ALLOW BLANK SPACE FILL OUR LIFE… Let’s fill it with unselfish love..go out and make friends...
